Hummingbird Technical Services Ltd is a CAA-authorised drone survey company founded in 2019, operating from Hangar 3, Doncaster Sheffield Airport, South Yorkshire, DN9 3GE. We provide professional aerial survey and inspection services across the UK, working with clients in construction, mining, civil engineering, aviation, television production, utilities and environmental management. Our services include drone topographic surveys, LiDAR scanning, thermal imaging, building and roof inspections, construction monitoring, 3D photogrammetry modelling, orthomosaic mapping, volume and stockpile surveys, and 360° panoramic tours.
Our team holds full CAA authorisation for commercial drone operations and carries comprehensive public liability insurance for all site work. All survey data is processed in-house using industry-standard photogrammetry and LiDAR pipelines, and delivered in formats compatible with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, QGIS, Bentley and Trimble workflows. We operate survey-grade drone platforms equipped with high-resolution mapping cameras, LiDAR scanners and calibrated radiometric thermal payloads giving us the capability to capture the right data for any project, in a single mobilisation.
We have delivered aerial survey and inspection work for a broad range of clients across the public and private sectors, including BBC, ITV, Sky News, Channel 4, Channel 5, Harworth Group, Gleeson Homes, Liverpool John Lennon Airport, Peel Group, Doncaster Sheffield Airport and many more. Our work spans housing and commercial development, industrial infrastructure, media production, airport operations and environmental monitoring across Yorkshire, the Midlands, the North West and the wider UK.
Alongside our survey services, we develop and host a suite of bespoke web-based tools that give clients direct access to their data. Our MapCompare platform allows clients to compare survey datasets across different dates, overlay survey information including boundaries and site features, annotate the map, take measurements and export professional PDF reports all in a secure, browser-based environment without needing specialist GIS software. Our PointCloud Viewer is a custom 3D point cloud platform that lets clients load, navigate, measure and annotate their LiDAR data online, on a secure and privately hosted platform. Our PanoTours platform hosts 360° panoramic tours for clients including Harworth Group and Liverpool John Lennon Airport, with PIN-protected access and more than 60 active sites currently live.
